Technology overview

The shopServer e-commerce software is built on Microsoft technology, utilizing Microsoft Internet Information Server, Microsoft SQL Server, COM+ and .NET.

When shopServer was designed back in 1998 a service based approach was chosen, and designed into the basic architecture of the product. Later when Web Services became popular and the standard, it became clear that shopServer was one of the first products in the world designed to not only support Web Services, but also to exploit Web Services in the internal architecture.
